Rhubarb is a wonderful perennial plant for the garden that is tasty in baked goods as well as savory dishes. It is also a great biomass plant, just spread the leaves flat on the ground as mulch to boost fertility, protect the soil and suppress weeds! We have at least 1 rhubarb planted near every fruit tree at the farm.
